The month of May is the national melanoma and skin cancer awareness month. May is when the weather starts to warm up, the sun starts to come out more consistently and a lot people start to spend more and more time out doors. It is a great time to check over your skin protection routine. Are you remembering to wear your wide-brimmed hats, are you remembering to wear your sunscreen and are those sunscreens reasonably within date? It is easy to get the spring fever and forget these small things, but it is important to remember that its the little steps that we take now that help protect our skin from future skin cancers.
